I didn't find my love of exercise until I reached my early twenties. It came as a surprise to me after being a very non-sporty teenager. My dislike for competing against others, turned into a love for competing against myself. Lifting weights and running became my new favourite things to do. It amazed and excited me how much control I actually had over my weight and my health. Eventually I decided to turn that love into a career in personal training.
Over a decade later, I still love teaching people how to exercise properly. I have been fortunate enough to work with some of the best people in the industry, and operate my business out of one of the best equipped facilities in the country. I have helped people of all ages (15 through to 83!) and abilities (newbies to the gym through to athletes and personal trainers themselves), and regularly work with clients with more complicated health issues such as diabetes, heart disease, and cystic fibrosis to mention a few. In addition, now with a young family of my own, I can appreciate the challenges of time poor overstretched mums and dads, and can empathetically help find solutions to the common problems of 'no time, or 'too tired'.
I hold a degree in Exercise Science, as well as a Bachelor of Holistic Nutrition and plan to complete my honours in exercise science once the kids are at school. I am also a fully qualified remedial massage therapist and certified full body ART practitioner (Active Release Technique), and have recently branched out and created my own natural, chemical free, locally made protein powder range (www.anpc.com.au) after being dissatisfied with other products available on the market.
